Deer Hunter is an excellent hunting game, though it has extremely simple graphics and interference, it did manage to capture the interest of online gamers. After the various fishing game, finally, someone thought of a way to market a deer hunting game. It is quite impressive since you can walk around the area in full 3D environment instead of only walking around on a map. However, it is not allowed to walk directly to the deer and shoot its head off. You need to follow the hunting process using calls, scents and other stuff. You are permitted to set up a tree stand, apply the mating hormones of the female deer so that the males will come after you, or maybe use the urine scent which is always a plus factor. If you mess up, the deer will run. Likewise, the game allows you to hunt more than just a deer, and you can shoot down powerful beasts like wolves and other animals. Another feature of the game is that it has underwater hunting where you hunt down fish using a spear gun.

If you are not a big fan of shooting games then maybe this game is not for you. You can use the money that you earn from each hunt to purchase or upgrade your weapons. You start the quest by choosing your preferred weapons; you can have a couple of different rifles, shotguns, bows, and black powder rifle. You may then proceed to get a feel of your weapon at the target range or select the site to hunt. Once you choose specifically the area to do the hunting, you will see a screen that shows a map of the immediate location. On this point, you will then move a symbol that will represent your hunter and his field of vision. You will come across signs of movement and activity such as deer droppings, rubbing, and beds while you are in the process of moving the symbol on the edge of the tree line and along the game trails. From this screen, you can click on the hint button to load the first-person view of the site you selected. You do have several options from this view. You may either pull out your weapon, use the deer call and rattle deer horns, or use binoculars to take a closer look at the things.

The game's artificial intelligence is pretty good. For example, the deer will run off if you let them downwind and they feel your presence. The graphics are modestly good but not to the extent of top notch. The entire totality of the game is on 3D, and everything has its texture and quality. There are weather effects available such as the rain, snow, and hail. You can trail the deer you hit through the footprints and the blood on the snow. You can hunt at different locations, sites and places in which all of it is different graphically. It may be in Canada during fall or might be in Michigan throughout winter or even in the forest of Colorado.

3D Deer Hunter is one of the first games that was on a true 3D sound that works perfectly fine on a surround sound system. You will hear the foot noises to all your left side if ever the deer is to the left and back of your direction. Similarly, if the deer is on the right side, then you will hear the right speaker.

The game is based solely on the same thing over and over again. Deer hunter may be nice and neat to play with your hunting partners for ten minutes, or it would be good to play once in a while. But for the most part, it has an longevity concern. Let’s face the fact that though it is fun to blast deer and all, however, after a few kills we get to conclude that it does not go much beyond that. Obviously, it has a pretty good replay value if you are into the whole playing of a simulation of an outdoor exercise. Upgrade Your Weapon

Later on, you are allowed to do missions, and in these missions you are given a target like a hunt two wolves or a ram. You need to remember that you may miss these animals since they are fast thus take more effort in taking them down. While playing the game, the animal may also attack you. So if ever you fail to take it out first then it will be the one to take you out. It will eventually get to the point where you will encounter the stronger animals; you may need to two bullets to take it down. You might need to upgrade your weapon where it is powerful enough to take down bears and lions. Throughout those tough hunts, other animals might come running towards you upon sensing your struggle. Purchase Infrared Gun Add-On

The infrared add-on is another gun power up that will become your best friend. Keep it peripheral to your favorite best rifle then you will have an easier time spotting the important body shots of the animals. You will quickly pull through those vital organ fired at no point during the missions that require them.

Use Animal Call During Trickier Hunts

You can use this to preserve your progress if you are struggling with a task. Through the activation of this particular item, it will start the mission but it will allow you to keep the animal kills you racked up in the earlier attempt. You only get a few for free though so you might need to save these for the trickiest hunts.

Under Water Hunting is a new addition to the game, if you are already tired and fed up of hunting on dry land, then you can head to the water and hunt for fishes. You are provided with new weapons that suit for this mode. Just make sure to upgrade it all. The underwater hunting brings something fresh and different taste of the game. Since, as the water pretty much restricts your movement and alters your aim a bit.
