Elite Killer: SWAT is a favorite freemium third-person shooter published by CanadaDroid. While it’s not that perfect and not ready for Xbox Arcade, the game is entertaining to play for anyone who is waiting in the lobby of their favorite TPS.
For someone who is a fan of Gears of War, they will right away notice the TPS mechanics, and if they have played Unreal, even the announcer itself will sound familiar with his Vince McMahon delivery of “headshot.” Having a limited budget and the need to make the game playable on a wide range of devices, the game still delivered an unforgettable experience in a short and controlled burst.
Player’s movement will be limited only to three spots which they will move between and stay ducked behind until they can fire one of two weapons (sniper and assault rifle) that they can bring. The game contains around 100 levels that are spread out to over ten chapters with each having a unique locale.
In order to use the best weapons in the game, players need to have gold to get them. But gold isn’t that difficult to collect since it’s usually available in some freemium titles. Aside from the primary and secondary weapons, players will also have with them grenades, health kits, and air strikes that can be collected and used.
Also, there is a rank PVP mode available within the game, though it’s not the usual type of PVP. Players will face off against AI-controlled enemies with stats and weapons matching what the player has gained. By playing in PVP mode, players can earn dog tags which can be used later as in-game currency to buy powerful weapons from the in-game store.
