Players can kill enemies, bosses, and earn gold. They can also upgrade their character so that it can perform better in battle, discover new abilities, and battle with other players in climbing the dungeon leaderboards.
Gameplay
Nonstop Knight talks about an adventure of a young knight violently swinging his sword to his enemies. The premise of the game is the nonstop swinging of his sword. You can’t see any pause button, and even if you exit the game and return, you’ll find out that your currency has increased and your character is still swinging his sword at his enemies despite your absence.
One of your goals is to reach difficult boss levels or to earn coins for you to upgrade your weapons, armor, and cloaks within the chest. You will also be collecting and unlocking new skills such as leap attack, whirl power strikes.
You will have to start off with a few basic active skills such as Whirl and Leap. But as you play along, you will learn new skills such Clone, Slash, and Void. You will learn a new skill every time you level up, and your character can only use up to 3 active skills.
With a little bit of experience, you can quickly unlock bigger and better abilities, such as a handy power which temporarily clones your character. Keep in mind that each ability has a cool down period, so you can’t just constantly hammer them. You will need to bust them out when the time is right. You can also upgrade your powers by using collectible runes, adding extra damage and so forth.
When you’re strong enough, you can opt to take on the level’s boss with a simple tap of a button located at the upper portion of your screen. However, these fights won’t involve real tactics or strategy; you just need to hit each other until one of you dies. If you win the battle, it will reward you with a new piece of equipment, and the game continues.
Tips and Tricks
Make Sure to String Together Combos
Aside from purchasing upgrades and heading up to the Gold Leap, another better way for you to earn coins is to string together combos. Nonstop Knight can be a little tricky since it won’t tell you this in any way, shape or form. But if ever you can kill at least three enemies in one strike, you’ll be rewarded with free coins.
So that brings us back to the Gold Leap because your character’s basic reach will only be limited up to two enemies. Using Gold Leap and other skills can let you string together combos for some gold bonuses.
In addition, you should not forget to upgrade your cloak, since it will determine the amount of damage your skills inflict on enemies. Try using the Gold Leap with a sufficiently upgraded Cloak, and you’ll end up stringing together combos and earn a ton of coins.
Buy Upgrades To Earn More Coins
If you want to earn more coins in this game, the first thing that you should do is to focus on those upgrades. If you already have enough tokens, you can go to the Upgrade section of the in-app store and purchase some power-ups. You don’t have to worry since these bonuses will remain if ever you level up. You should also consider buying a Coin Gain power-up if you want to earn coins faster. This will increase your coin gain of up to 300 percent or three times the amount of coins that you normally collect.
You can also choose the Offline Coins power-up, which lets you earn more coins while you’re not playing the game. This is quite appealing since it’s always better to earn coins while you’re sleeping.
Make Sure To Kill All Monsters
Of course, the easiest way you can earn coins is simply killing more monsters. The more monsters you kill, the more coins you will receive. As a bonus tip, you can also pay gems to earn coins. But I would suggest that you spend your premium currency on something more valuable. Just kill more enemies to earn more coins naturally!
Upgrade Your Equipment
You will be notified on how much you will need to pay to level up your armor, weapons, and cloak in the equipment tab. Once you notice that the backpack icon turns green, it means that you’ve got sufficient coins for an upgrade. Just simply tap on that icon for you to start upgrading your equipment.
However, there are some few things that you should consider – your weapons and armor may have perks, which, in RPG parlance, are stat bonuses that can help you in a much unique way. If ever you have two similar pieces of gear that have the same level or stats, the perks can help you decide which equipment you should be upgrading.
Get Better Equipment
In every role-playing game, characters can open chests to gain more loot. These chests are often very plentiful and usually given out by the game itself. But that’s not one of the game’s key features. You can still win chests after killing a boss successfully. Don’t forget that these chests may come with premium gear which you can use or sell. But if you don’t get a nice piece of equipment, you can always spend your gems for a reroll.
Sell Your Old Equipment
Always keep in mind that you will lose all your equipment when you ascend, so there’s no sense in holding onto old and outdated items. Sell it right away and use the gold to upgrade the gear that you actually use.
Ascension
After your clear several stages, you will be given an opportunity to ascend. Ascension brings your Knight back to the very first floor of the dungeon, and you’ll lose all your equipment, starting out again with the Rusty Sword, Worn Armor, and Old Cloak. But you will keep your level and experience and all the skills and runes that you’ve earned so far.
You might be wondering what the point of Ascension. Well, you’ll earn special tokens that let you purchase permanent bonuses for your Knight. So consider ascending when you get the chance. It will be worth it in the long run for permanent upgrades.
You Should Try Different Rune Combinations
You will not only learn new skills when you level up, but you will also gain new Runes. Runes are modifiers for your Knight’s skills. For instance, the Frost rune for Whirl chills your enemies, slowing their movement and attack speed. Remember that each skill has four different runes for you to try, but you only one can be active.
Use Your Skills Often
Don’t ever forget to use your skills. Don’t just sit on them and wait too long for the perfect opportunity, just use them as you need them. But this doesn’t mean that you should use your skills after cooldown. It’s always safe to use skills only in specific situations, like your starting skill, Whirl. If you surrounded by a lot of enemies, use whirl and kill them all!
You Can Close The Game
One cool feature about Nonstop Knight is that it kind of works like those idling game, where players can leave the game and come back. Every time you close the game, your Knight will continue to fight their way through the dungeon. The only time that will require you to come back is when your Knight reaches the boss level. You will have to play for these parts, but after that, you can again close the game. You can also see a recap of how far your Knight got while you were away and how much gold coins it earned.
Watch Videos
There are times that when you grab a purple chest, you’ll be asked to look at a video to receive a reward. Don’t hesitate to do it and you’ll find that your coffers are swelling in no time.
Which NonStop Items To Keep and Which To Level First
When you play Nonstop Knight, you will come across different items that include flat attributes like Speed, Damage, Armor, and Critical. For weapons, always use anything with a high percentage attack speed and any additional attributes ideally on hit attributes for a secondary stat or critical chance.
For armor, always choose items that have +percentage armor and +percentage armor with low HP as these items can come very handy for hard boss fights. You might also want to keep a 2nd set of armor that comes with an attack speed modifiers for times when you go offline.
For cloak, look for the attack speed modifier or armor modifier. There so far are the most significant ones unless you can have something that has a 20 percent critical chance rating.
